franz ferdinand

friday night my roommate silvia and i took the bus to the town of hafnarfjordur just south of reykjavik to see the band franz ferdinand. it was great show! and we saw the northern lights on the way to the bus stop--i'm looking forward to seeing more northern lights this winter.
cultural differences that i observed: 1. there is lots of pushing and shoving in crowds here and no appologies; i guess it's just assumed that they didn't mean to albow you so there's no need to say sorry. 2. kids go everywhere by themselves, including to concerts that last until midnight. there were tons of kids at the show, like 10 year old girls all dressed up and without adults. it's pretty safe here but still...
